At ACSEN Agriscience, we are our people. From the leaders who chart our course to those who put our plans into action, each of us plays a part in delivering our ambitions. Together, our pan-India teams drive forward our vision and mission.
Dr. M. Ramasami established the now globally reputed brand Rasi Seeds in 1973 after graduating from the prestigious Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. Hailing from a family of agriculturalists, he launched Rasi, mindful of Indian farmers' growing need for quality, high-yielding seeds. He worked tirelessly in the field of cottonseed hybrids, determined to develop and deliver products that would best benefit farmers. Driven by a scientific temper, he built an extensive team of experts who engaged in seed R&D with the best technology of the times.
With over 36 years of experience in the Indian agriculture and seed industry, Dr. Ramasami launched HyVeg, a specialized vegetable seed vertical, in 2009. His aim — expand the organization’s impact in bettering the lives and livelihoods of Indian farmers. Founded on his mantra of "Innovation is Life", HyVeg's(now ACSEN Agriscience) ethos continues to be deeply rooted in the passion to create high-quality vegetable and field crop seeds that can cultivate transformation change.
Dr. Ramasami continues to be our organization's strongest guiding force. For his invaluable contributions to Indian agriculture, he is fondly known as the 'Cotton King'. As a devoted philanthropist, who believes in giving back to society, his work extends beyond the purview of agriculture — into education and healthcare.
S. Senthilnathan joined the Board of Rasi Seeds Group to lead the textile arm of the group in 1999. The division benefited greatly from Sen's extensive industry experience and leadership skills, soon earning renown as the country's best and highest quality yarn manufacturer. Later, as Executive Director of Rasi Seeds, he oversaw finance and administration and was Director-in-Charge when the vegetable seed vertical was established. In 2013, Sen was handed the mantle of Rasi's cottonseed business, where he ably led the brand back to its position as a national leader.
As the Executive Chairman of the ACSEN Group (formed in 2016 since its demerger from the Rasi Seeds Group), Sen leads a team of 1,000 employees across its vegetable seed (ACSEN Agriscience) and textile (ACSEN Tex) verticals.
At ACSEN Agriscience, he sets and evolves the organization's strategy for purposeful growth while nurturing a strong team to drive its execution. His strategy includes operational excellence, creating new markets, the pursuit of differentiation and responsible business development.
Sen is passionate about serving farmers by helping them earn more profits per acre, building a trusting and purposeful ambiance in the organization that nurtures transformational innovations and positive climate and health action. They fall in line with the ACSEN Group's core belief of a Happy Planet, Healthy People.
In addition to his professional career at ACSEN, Sen was the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industries—Salem from 2012-13 and the CII Tamil Nadu Agri and Food Processing Panel Convener for three years since April 2018. He is an elected member of the executive committee of the Asia and Pacific Seed Alliance.
Sen is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the College of Engineering, Guindy, and a post-graduate from Loyola Institute of Business Administration with a Masters in Management Studies. He worked in L&T for nine years before transitioning to Rasi Seeds Group and establishing the ACSEN Group.
A pragmatic figure in the Indian agriculture and seed industry, Dr. Arvind Kapur has helmed the HyVeg brand since its launch in 2009, before its induction into the ACSEN Group in 2017. As ACSEN Agriscience, the organization has drawn extensively from his scientific and technological prowess and managerial insight and was the only Indian vegetable seed brand to launch in the market with robust breeding set up of important 21 vegetable crops.
Dr. Kapur has over four decades of local & global experience in the seed development industry. He is backed by a strong track record of driving excellence in business and product development, designing technology-driven crop breeding programs, and delivering value-added vegetable hybrid seeds to farmers.
He currently chairs the APSA Standing Committee on IPR & Biodiversity, member of the IP Committee of ISF (International Seed Federation), and is the former Secretary-General of the Seed Association of India (SAI). Dr. Kapur actively participates in many technical and business organizations (Indo-Swiss Collaboration in Biotechnology; Confederation of Indian Industries; Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry in India; Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Ph.D. Chambers of Commerce & Industry) and is engaged in raising awareness for IP-related issues in Asia and globally.
