Farmers are always at the heart of what we do. We understand that when small farmers thrive, so do their families and their communities. Our position as the country's leading seed company allows us the opportunity to uplift smallholder farmers and growers with access to high-quality seeds that give them increased yields and improved farm profits.

We recently ranked #5 out of 31 companies in the 2021 Access to Seed Index, which “benchmarks seed companies on their efforts to make their products available to smallholder farmers." Through our research, seed innovation and breeding programmes, we deliver seeds that produce vigorous and uniform crops with wider planting windows. We also offer tailor-made solutions to further mitigate growers' risk. This includes developing hybrid varieties that address local farmer needs like resistance to regional pests and diseases and climate stresses.

We cultivate the next steps of change. This involves driving the next step beyond the confines of our labs. From on-field training to knowledge transfer modules, our pan-India farmer support services empower farmers with the best agronomic know-how that reduces input cost and bolster yield. However, the best seeds can only go so far in supporting farmers to overcome their challenges. To experience the full potential of quality seeds, gaining access to markets is paramount. As part of our capacity building and extension services, we have facilitated networking and collaborations to help farmers sell their produce through various platforms such as Amazon, Big Bazaar and Reliance Fresh.

Employing a holistic approach to empowering smallholder farmers can shift the entire paradigm of food security. We work collaboratively across teams and across our group companies to establish focussed impact goals in the areas we can make the biggest impact — beginning with sustainability at the heart of food and agriculture.

From providing the basics for quality education to making mindful parenting and tutoring a reality, our Enriching Young Minds program aims to better children's lives. As part of our various initiatives, we work with parents, teachers and children to ensure that the value of a holistic education is understood, embraced and acted upon.

Pause for Perspective is our effort to bring awareness, attention, and curiosity to interactions with children in a way that uplifts all involved. We promote inclusive and holistic spaces of growth for children and adolescent teens. To address a pressing challenge of our times, we focus on transforming how society engages with children's developmental and emotional needs. Designed in partnership with child psychologist and author Aarthi C Rajaratnam, Pause for Perspective works to establish and deepen the importance of mental health and wellness across settings in which young children and adolescents spend a majority of their time :

• At home: We reach parents and caregivers directly through workshops and easily accessible online resources with activities and messages that encourage allyship and help strengthen familial bonds.
• In educational institutions: We collaborate with the local community of teachers, educators and influential personalities on providing culturally and socially relevant learnings that encourage curiosity and creativity.
• Among peers: We work with and support children by offering them safe and inclusive space to discuss issues on mental health, societal pressures and health through interactive sessions.

The Foundations for the Future initiative plays a crucial role in solving the problem of access to quality school infrastructure and developing an environment that fosters a curiosity to learn. Our education initiative aims to provide students, despite their geography, with access to quality education and educational facilities and tackle inequality and inequity at the roots. We do this by collaborating with local governments across the country to upgrade government school infrastructure — ensuring that students feel supported and valued in their pursuits.

• Providing basic essentials, like water tanks, fans, chairs and tables, in government schools.
• Supporting government-run schools and colleges with supplementary technology like laptops and desktops
• Upgrading existing structures with improved facilities including spacious buildings, well-maintained restrooms, better flooring.
• Planning and building additional structures, including classrooms, recreation areas.

We believe that positive climate action can be the foundation for a new era of innovative potential, and durable economic growth. Environmental responsibility is an integral part of our culture at the ACSEN Group. We seek to address environmental challenges by tackling these issues at society's grassroots level, driving inclusive and sustainable change to the top.

To lead the charge on climate change, we work closely with governments, non-profits, social movement organisations, social entrepreneurs and researchers, executing meaningful change that is thoughtful, collaborative and forwards positive change. Our projects feature holistic agendas that focus on reviving and renewing ecosystems in their entirety.

Manivizhundan Lake Project
ACSEN Foundation's flagship rejuvenation project, the Manivizhundan Lake project, started in 2021 to provide long-term solutions in restoring water bodies, recharging groundwater and offering access to safe and reliable water supply for local communities. With meticulous planning, consistent effort and community-driven partnerships with groups like the Salem Ornithological Foundation, Salim Ali Institute of Ornithology and Natural History, Forest College and Research Institute in Coimbatore, the project has grown to include tree plantation drives, biodiversity conservation efforts and the latest addition to The Asian Waterbird Census 2022.

Despite these vast strides, we recognise the public health system faces challenges in ensuring equal access to quality healthcare for all. We believe that as an organisation, we possess the potential to remedy this inequality and contribute to the sustainable development of public health.

The Act for Hope initiative seeks to foster inclusive access to healthcare so that all people, especially marginalised sections including women and children, are healthy enough to fulfil their life aspirations. With a focus on promotive and preventive healthcare, we partner with civic bodies and local NPOs and NGOs to raise awareness around primary healthcare for women and children, support initiatives that improve lives of those altered by injury and upgrade public medical infrastructure.

Committed to enhancing the quality of life and improving India’s healthcare, our areas of focus include :

• Contributing to relief funds in times of national need.
• Bolstering local healthcare facilities with medical equipment like oxygen concentrators and ECG machines.
• Supporting local and marginalised communities manage life-threatening illnesses with financial aid for treatments and surgeries.
• Implementing various capacity-building workshops to educate and upgrade knowledge among adolescent girls and women about menstrual and reproductive health and hygiene.
